We welcome and support projects of all types, whether you have a medical condition, financial issue, or even looking to start or help your own business. Our rules, in keeping with our missive, are simple:
Because our platform is more freely open to individuals with less focus on “things” or “rewards”, we are far less restrictive on the type of campaigns you can run. But not without limits. Our community is designed for people to get help and for people to help others. So we do not allow for campaigns that violate any law, or are offensive generally.
Our community is built on trust. Projects can’t mislead people or misrepresent facts, and creators should be candid about who they are and their real situation. The more honest and open you are, the more people will trust your campaign and want to help. But false campaigns not only hurt you, they hurt everyone, especially our community. Violating our Terms and Conditions can be very damaging to not only you, but others with true need as well, and can (and probably will) result in prosecution.
We’re all in favor of investment, but they’re not permitted on FM4L. They can’t offer financial incentives like equity or repayment. While you can offer memberships to your club or organization, you cannot sell “shares” or “ownership” interests due to extensive governing laws for the sale of securities. We also can’t allow any of these prohibited things.
